Wayne Tarken

Wayne Tarken, MBA, SPHR – Senior Management Consultant – brings over twenty years of business and human resources experience as a Principal with the Human Resource Technology Group.  Tarken works with business executives and HR leaders in developing human resource management, “Employee of Choice” selection & retention, performance management, process improvement, employee development and organizational effectiveness strategies.   

He specializes in the application of technology to human resources by developing e’HR and HR Internet strategies and management practices, with a focus on the virtual worker and the people-side of technology. He has helped two Internet startups successfully come to market.  

Tarken is recognized as an outstanding leader and educator in the human resource profession. He was recently selected as the Chair for the 2002 Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Annual Conference, the largest meeting of HR professionals in the world. He serves as President of the Tri-State Human Resource Management Association and on the National Advisory Board for the Human Resource Technology X-Change, the society’s technology professional emphasis group.  

He’s a member of numerous local, state and regional groups that focus on HR & technology and competencies including the Human Resource Certification Institute Item Review Team that evaluates certification questions on the body of knowledge of the human resource profession.  

He also serves on the faculty of the Fox School of Business at Temple University where he teaches Strategic Human Resource Management (MBA), Managing People and Organizations (MBA) and Internet-based organizational staffing (undergraduate).  

A strong business and line orientation has helped him develop a track record of innovative human resource strategies with bottom-line results.  He is a highly valued and dynamic speaker and presenter who appears at national and local conferences and programs to address the issue of people & technology, HR process improvement and “Employer of Choice” strategies. 

Tarken graduated from Temple University with an M.B.A. in Human Resource Management and a B.A in Economics.
